Doyle’s Room Poker have a brand new pro in their midst with the addition of Dan Kelly to the Brunson 10. Kelly had been involved in the Brunson 10 Leaderboard challenge at the World Series of Poker for a sponsorship deal with Doyle’s Room but he has secured his place on the Brunson 10 by winning a bracelet during the series.
Dan Kelly along with Faraz Jaka, David Sands and Michael Martin were competing to be the seventh member of the Brunson 10 in a leaderboard challenge at the World Series of Poker. Kelly won the $25k six handed no-limit hold’em event for $1.3m and secured his name as the seventh number of the Brunson 10.
When it reached the final table Kelly started by eliminating Mikael Thuritz and Euguene Katchalov before treading water for a while before Shawn Buchanan eliminated both Jason Somerville in fourth place and Frank Kassela in third place. His knock out blow to Kassela was particularly harsh after pushing all in with an open ended straight draw against Kassela’s two pair. The straight came and left a disappointed Kassela to rue his opponent’s mystifying decision to move all in.
Heads up didn’t last long and after a series of small pots the money all went in with Kelly holding A10 and Buchanan pocket jacks. An ace on the river secured the title, the prize money and the bracelet and a Brunson 10 place for Dan Kelly.
